Johan Hovelynck
I have worked as an independent process consultant since 2001, primarily as a team and leadership coach, mostly in contexts of organizational development. In addition, I remain connected to the University of Leuven (KUL) as a part-time lecturer in Group Dynamics and in Outdoor Pursuits.
I studied Organizational Psychology (KU Leuven) and Adult Education (VU Brussels). Combining this background with my experience in climbing and caving, brought me to working for Outward Bound Belgium, where I led professional development programs for 7 years. Focal points during this period were outdoor development training, facilitating experiential learning and integrating learning processes in work systems and change management.
Aiming to further develop my potential as a trainer and consultant, I worked the next 7 years at the KU Leuven, where I was active in research and education about groups and organizations. This period resulted in a doctorate on process consultation and the facilitation of experiential learning, and a thorough understanding of action research, Appreciative Inquiry and multi-party collaboration.
Following this period of research, I founded Triagram in order to continue my work in process consulting. I have since facilitated, trained and consulted for various organizations in both the profit and social-profit sectors. Responding to customers’ demand, my activities to include leadership training and coaching.
